Went to see the Gram Parsons Tribute last night. He was one prolific songwriter, especially considering he died at age 26. Al Perkins sounded great on steel,Jim Lauderdale was there, as was Keith Richards who sang (not his strong point) and played a little bit of acoustic guitar, but no lead unfortunately. Quite a night!

Jim, you're a lucky man. I would have loved to have seen that show. Did Lucinda Williams play that gig?

Yes, Lucinda was also there. I had never seen her live before, and she was quite charismatic, although in my opinion she is a better song writer than singer.
The sound at this gig was spectacularly clean, each instrument came through clear and clean sounding like it was the only one there, ie there was no "wall of sound" that we sometimes hear in the mix. And the band was very tight, they sounded like they had all been toether for years.
Not a bad evening at all....
