Thanks to Gary Carpenter for building a great steel guitar. With the 705 pickups the sound and tone of this instrument puts it in a class above other. It is a very smooth playing steel. Besides the guitar Gary is just a great person and an outstanding player. No wonder he is in demand on recording sessions.

I have had my Rains SD-10 going on two years and I couldn't be happier.

David Hartley and friends really put on a great show in the Rains room in Dallas. Great entertainment and a great steel guitar.

My Rains just keeps sounding better and better, the better I get. (of course). But I know it's the last steel I'll ever need or want. And the 705's in it are indeed awesome.

I also realized early on that this is all I'm ever going to need! My D-10 Rains is a superb instrument, and Gary and I hit it off very early on as well. I kept hearing these guys talk about having multiple steels, and my thought was...why?!

This Rains was built when Bob was still at the helm.
It was custom ordered and the cabinet was built by Mark Giles. It is the pride of the fleet.

I purchased my Rains (D-10, 3 & 5)while Bob was still at the helm in 2004, serial #12 and it was great. At the recomendation of a fellow Rains player I sent mine to Gary Carpenter in 2009 and had Gary update it. It is now even better than before. No need for anything else.

Just got my first "Pre-Owned" Rains this week.I told my wife last summer,"doggone it,i'm gonna have that Rains by the time i'm 60"....said it really just jokingly cause i'm on a pretty limited income.Well,i got it one month shy of my 60th birthday !!! What a great way to turn 60....wish i'd had one sooner but hey,God seems to put things in my path at the right time...i love this guitar & i needed a couple of minor bits and pieces,set screws,springs, rod thru bellcrank retainers...i was amazed @ how quickly Gary & Curtis took care of me.They are just the greatest when it comes to owner care and had no problem spending time on the phone getting acquainted...First class treatment from some first class folks !!!!Can't wait to get to Texas & hopefully meet them,next years Jamboree is my plan !!! God Bless Texas.... Thanks
