I've heard a few songs featuring steel so far this year, including Josh Turner's version of the Don Williams tune "I Wouldn't Be A Man", Sunny Sweeney's latest song "From A Table Away's got steel all over it, especially a great steel intro and solo-the steel comes in before the guitar. Brad Paisley's latest song "This Is Country Music" features steel-Randle Currie played on it.

The most steel guitar "airplay" I've heard "this year" has been when we baby sit my young grandson and watch "Sponge Bob". Jay Y.

Well,I'm sure we are getting more than before, but,I'll have to keep on them Big Music Heads in Nashville and L.A. to New York to try a little harder for us Steel Guitar Lovers.I'm sure Most don't care about this matter anyway. Just Us Steel Guitar Lovers who can play it or respect it for what the Musician behind it gives us. Cool Leo J.Eiffert,Jr. for President of The USA 2012 for the Steel Guitar in the White House. Last year I was fortunate to get to play a steel show with Russ Hicks and Chuck Camble, Jimmy Thompson, along with Danny Hullahan at the wheeling Jamboree. This was broadcast and televised.

The answer to this question is NO...unless your listening to XM/SIRIUS radio..and then its only on a very few channels..But then again thats what nashville has wanted for years...im sorry guys but COUNTRY RADIO...isnt and hasnt been COUNTRY for years...even if they have all the required insturments like steel and fiddle...Right now there is ONLY one place making REAL COUNTRY and its in texas..austin texas to be exact....but then again i reckon thats just my opinion

Yes, in Holland you hear Paul Franklin all day long on the radio, all commercial stations because he played on the new album from our national singer Ilse deLange.
Almost every song from that album gets into the hitcharts, and has steel in it.
