David Hartley and John Stannard at the Dallas Show

Post by Ken Fox »

The tune is "There Stands The Glass". They put on shows for two days in the Rains Steel Guitar Room to a packed house.

Hey David, No evidence of jet lag there! You and John sound as good as ever!
Nice looking Rains too. Gary's the man!

I got to stand right in front of David (and Jon) on Friday morning for his "soundcheck" early and then for about 20 minutes of his first set before I had to fly back to NJ. Awesome is the only word to describe it. Since I took delivery of a Rains "The Hartley" about 3 weeks before the show, I felt I had a blood connection :)> David was very open and transparent, shared a few things and then just tore it up.

BTW -- I thought the Fox amp that Jon used sounded incredible.

My son and I caught David's rendering of "The Orange Blossom Special" in the Rains Room Friday to a packed room. Got to meet and chat with Gary Carpenter and Ron Stafford two of my very favorite players.

Thanks for listening and thanks to Dave and John for using our amps for these shows. Gives everyone a chance to hear both amp models in action.

Will post a few more ASAP from their Rains Room show.

Hey John (if you're listening),
Turn around so I can see how you play that lick at 1:22. That's great!
