MSA Classic D-10 Lacquer (8+4) Value?

I bought a very nice MSA Classic D-10 (8+4) from Chuck Martin here about three years ago through this forum. It is a very nice PSG. I got it mainly to interest my kids though I also wanted to play around with it myself a bit. It has a couple of cracks that were there when I bought it which have never effected the playability of the guitar. Chuck told me the cracks hadn't changed in four years before I bought it. I've had the for three more years and I have seen no change either. It is a great instrument but is simply not being used so it has become mainly a pretty thing to look at in the corner of the living room. (If anyone is playing something around here, it is usually a six-string hollow body or a piano). I'm thinking it may be time to let this MSA move on and be properly played by someone else.

I haven't followed pricing very closely for a while. This has always struck me as a pretty safe place to ask a question and get an honest answer, so what's a fair price on a PSG like this these days? I can get a bit of an idea about a Lacquer MSA D-10, but then to factor in the cracks. What do you think?

Below is the old ad which Chuck posted from which I ultimately bought this. As far as I'm aware, the PSG is in the exact same condition as when I bought it (except that it could use a new set of strings). I have only set it up once and left it that way (always climate controlled and smoke free). If I do put it up for sale, it would include a case that isn't beautiful, but worked fine when the PSG was shipped to me.

Here's the ad I bought it from: http://bb.steelguitarforum.com/viewtopi ... =msa+crack

Thanks!

Richard

Thanks Paul, that's about what I figured. Nice Guitar Ben. I love the look of these as well. Part of me wants to keep it sitting right where it is, but the other part knows if I can't make myself start learning to play this in three years (and since the kids aren't really interested right now), I may as well free up the space and use the funds for something else for the time being...

Ray,

I was thinking of posting it at $1200 plus shipping though I already have several interested parties so I don't know if I'll ever get a chance to "officially" post it before someone talks me out of it. It makes sense to let it go as it isn't being used, but I'll hate to see it gone if I sell it too...

I am not where the PSG is right now so I can't make more photos right away but if you like, I'll send you some current pictures once I make them-- probably tomorrow or Friday.

Thanks for your interest!
