A Great Time at the TSGA Show

Post by Chuck S. Lettes »

As always, it was a great weekend at the TSGA show. Thank you Albert and the TSGA crew for the invitation to play. I enjoy the social aspect of the festival as much as the music. I've made many friends over the years, and I've heard some inspiring music. This year I especially enjoyed the clear driving sounds in the Main Ballroom and the intimacy of the Rick Alexander Non-pedal Sessions (thanks Howard and Jeff). I look forward to next year already.

The big smile on your face could only be a small reflection from the smile on my face. I agree, it was a great time.

I agree Chuck, it was a great weekend and we owe a huge vote of thanks to the TSGA for enriching our lives with this event. Good friends and good music. And I echo your thanks to Howard and Jeff - the Rick Alexander Non-Pedal Sessions are really special. This year the experience was enhanced by the fact that my brother Rick from Toronto came down - we got to perform together in the Benoit Room and made some music with a bunch of great people.

I got to come to Dallas on Wed, Thurs, and Friday. Attended Paul Franklin seminar and hung out on Friday. This was my first event and I'm very new at Pedal steel. Let me say, I felt totally welcome. Met some great guys. Learned a ton. Bought a few things (new Telonics volume pedal and a high tech bar). Overall a terrific experience. I'll be back next year.

It was great to see people I haven't seen for a while. Great vibes, great music and a wonderful time.
A tip of the hat to Ken Fox and Jim Evans for a fun seminar. I'll be posting the instructions on
how to get great tone and common amp repairs on my web site at:
http://www.john-lemay.com later this week.
Thanks to Dave Beaty for making it possible for me to be there!
