I bought the "Up from the Top? lesson several years ago and then got laid up with an injury. I'm back playing now and here I am. My concern is with the book that came with it. It's good and very helpful but it doesn't cover anything on the DVR. What am I missing... if anything?

Did you buy that course used? I'm curious whether you ended up with a mismatched set- all of the "Up from the top" series have a matching book and video with only a few things shown in the vids that aren't in the book, and most of the exercises and licks follow along directly with the video.
Sounds like there's a mixup somewhere.

The book contains a lot of scales and it's titled "UP from the Top"

I bought it new from Fran.

Do you or anyone else out there have a current number I can call Fran at?

A big thanks to Bob and Ben. Very Happy I didn't find it on the web site.

Mark, that tells me there were at least two if not more UP FROM THE TOP courses. Am I correct?

Yes, there are separate "Up From The Top" courses for the A&B pedals, "D" lever lowering strings 4 and 8, and "F" lever raising strings 4 & 8.
Maybe the explanation at the bottom of this page can help you figure out if you've got all the right materials: http://www.jeffran.com/courses.php?content=UpFromtheTop

Thanks Mark. The DVD I have is about the A & B pedals and finding 7ths. The book I received is mostly scales and patterns surrounding them. I'll be calling Fran tomorrow and try to straighten it all out.

again Thanks

Well the problem is resolved. It apparently is in the fact that the "up from the top" is a two DVD selection. The book I referred to covers both sections. Fran listened to my tale of woe and neither of us can recall it. Either way Fran graciously is sending me the Part 1.

Again Mark, I'm grateful for your help.

Gotta love happy endings.

I got a rack full of Jeff's tapes, dvds, books, and course materials. Keeping the videos aligned with the text materials took making a cross reference notebook.

Osmosis doesn't work, I've found.

I've known Fran for almost 35 years. I offered to pay for the missing DVD but she wouldn't hear of it.
