Greetings ! Mr. Green
i've got a buddy here lookin' for a wheeled case for his Emmons D10
i looked over at skb & gator sites to get an idea of what's out there
Would any of you have any suggestions ?
i did suggest that wheels & a handle could be added on the existing case

Get in touch with Kevin Hatton. He makes very cool wheeled cases, as well as 2 piece cases.

I would check with a French case company. Anybody that makes pro level cases for computer gear, lighting, cameras, golf clubs, sound reinforcement, shotguns....whatever. Its just a well made box with the proper inserts to hold the steel. Many keyboard cases fit steel guitars. The customs fees and shipping from the states is crazy expensive.

One of the best steel cases I ever owned was from Norway. Flight worthy and light. I forgot the name of them.

I use these guys now for my cases:

i should have been a bit more explicit
the fellow that wants a case, basically wants a plastic shell case w: wheels like skb, wheeleezee, that he can add the foam into
he wants to cut down on the weight factor & he's not a on the road player nor does he fly it

Wheel-Ez is the way to go. I'm not sure where to get them, but weren't they supplied with Sierra steels?

I have two of them - one for each of my Emmons LeGrande 111 D-10s. They're light, sturdy and very compact. easy to pick up and slide on to a car seat (or into an airline overhead bin - I've done that a lot!!!)

Best cases I ever bought!

Both mine came with interior padding to support a steel guitar. The Amamzon link:

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0002F7C68/?me=ATVPDKIKX0DER

has them at only $147 but, as you can see, there's no lining. I suppose my two were originally Sierra cases although I'm not certain of that. I bought both used.

Lucky Oceans was recently here and he had his Franklin D10 in one of those cases .. plenty of foam inside and he told me he had used it for years, with a lot of flying and it was perfect! His pedal bar and legs fitted in a cavity in the lid. Sierra added the foam etc I think before selling them, but they are built by SKB as a drum stand case! It wouldn't be hard to line one out to fit your specific guitar.

I have had UniTech Cases in Pennsylvania build me 4 wheeled cases in the past year or so and they do a really nice job. Nice blocking and well built.

Exactly what kind of foam would one use for a case like this?
