Does anyone know the steel player who played last night at the Wheel. Mike Sweeney wasn't there and someone else was playing a SD10 Rittenbury. His only effects were just a goodrich sustain and some green colored effect box he had on the floor. He uses a Webb amplifier. His tone sounded really clean like I like. He's a good player and seemed like such a nice guy. Just wondering who he is.

I know Vic Lawson works on Broadway a lot. Was the steel black mica with a brown to yellow lacquer face on it? If so it was Vic. He really loves that guitar. When we talked he mentioned that he often leaves that one home to "protect" it. Vic is a real nice guy & a great player.

Don't know what night you were there. But Vic is the guy with the Rittenberry. He plays Saturday night 10:00 till 2:00 after I'm done at 10;00. And he also plays Sunday 6:00 till 10:00. So if it was Saturday, I was there you just didn't get there early enough. Very Happy

Does my memory deceive me, or was/is there a banjo player who worked for Lester Flatt several decades ago by the name of Vic Lawson?

Sorry for the topic drift... Embarassed

I don`t know about Vic Lawson but Vic Jordan played banjo with Lester Flatt.
He wrote Pickaway, an instrumental which Mike auldridge recorded as a Dobro instrumental.

Anytime. I was going to introduce myself but just never got around to. Yall sounded really good. By the way, I loved yall's fiddle player as well. He seems really happy doing what he's doing! Not only do you guys just play good but yall seem to have an energy and chemistry on the stage too. And the crowd was really into it. The wheel to me is the best bar on broadway in my opinion.
