"Like Father, Like Son" w/ Great Steel by Frank Ca

Post by Joel Johnston »

Frank and I collaborated on this Paul Overstreet tune thru some e-mail and snail mail file sharing with the help of Big Jim Baron. Frank's ability to interpret a song is amazing to me and his steel phrasing on this song is incredible. My friend Walter Goeres in PHX also laid down some long distance drum tracks. Certainly interested in knowing what ya'll think . . .

Frank's steel playing is perfect, he knows how to back up a singer and create the right mood.Do you guys ever perform live?

Thanks again for giving this a listen and for your generous feedback.
Norm - I agree with your character assessment on Jim & Frank, top notch guys. I will continue to post material as I generate more. Stay tuned, I have some instrumental collaborations that I think are going to blow your socks off.
David - I have a dream of doing some long distance collaborating with you! I would love for us to record some swing tunes!
Matt - I have backed Frank up when he visited Spokane several times for "SuperJams" that were put on here by the now defunct NW Steel Guitar Association. I typically played bass or rhythm in the house band. That is the only time Frank and I have played live.
