
Here is one of my earlier renditions of a melody that is a reminder of the earlier years of what became known as "Sacred Steel". During the 1940s, into the 1950s, there was a small church on the corner of Garfield, and Rivard streets, in Detroit, Michigan, that seemed to be packed with musicians, and singers. This hearty group left a legacy that even lasts to this very day. Even though it is long gone, as even the streets are also gone. The remnant of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and so forth are still carrying the tradition on, in the various organizational churches that they are a part of.
