The second single, "Old Eldorado", from the new project I am recording with New Roots Duo is on its way to cdbaby and itunes. It will be available on those sites soon, but if you would like, you can download it here for free.

We welcome any comments.

If you missed the first single, "Chicken in the City", here is a link to that thread.

Thanks,
Dan

Dan, that's really good stuff, man. Great thematic development, solid playing by both of you, crisp recording, great use of dynamics. Is the CD available yet?

The guitar player has elements of Leo Kottke in his playing and I really dig Leo.

Thanks Mike,

Ben and I both love Leo's playing. We were finger-style guitar majors in college. Studied Leo's music quite extensively. Leo came in a few times to do workshops. I have transcribed several of Leo's pieces that have been published through Stropes Editions. Leo has been a huge inspiration.

Our CD is in progress. We are releasing it single by single. Should have it completed and packaged in September. We do have another CD, Roots Run Deep, that was released in 2008.

Thanks Again,
Dan

Dan,
Old Eldorado is so fine. I love hearing the high repoire between you two. The harmonics interlude provides a clear counterpoint to the driving rhythm that fills the rest of the piece. It was interesting hearing the offset melody at the end compared with the synchronized melody earlier.

Thanks very much for sharing this with us on the forum.
