We just returned from a cruise with Bobby Flores and the Yellow Rose Band. WOW!!! Bobby, R.J Smith, and Hank Singer on Fiddles....Jody Cameron playing AWESOME steel .....Harlan Kubos and his brother Dennis on bass/harmony vocals and drums respectively......one shuffle after another with Bobby doing the vocals. What's better than shuffles with fiddle and steel!!!! the answer is NOTHING! Too bad that Nashville is so clueless.
We are doing it again next year......if you like the REAL THING, then so should you.

The late Eric West turned me on to Bobby Flores. I love his albums. _________________ Show Pro D10 - amber (8+6), MSA D10 Legend XL Signature - redburst (9+6), Sho-Bud Pro 111 Custom (8+6), Emmons black Push-Pull D10 (8+5), Zum D10 (8x8), Hudson pedal resonator. Telonics TCA-500, Webb 614-E, |

The bus has only 2 foot pedals and a 'volume' pedal...no knees....no sweat!!!
Listen to Johnny Bush's 'When It's Your Turn to Fall'....Bobby on both fiddle and steel....awesome! |

What cruise was that? I'd consider taking that cruise. Jody and Bobby and Hank are top notch in my book. _________________ Henry Matthews

That had to be as good as it gets. Three fiddles. Bobby knows the importance of that to country music. As much as I would enjoy the music, I couldn't do the cruise. Seeing and hearing them for several days, and not be able to be a part of it..... I'd probably consider jumping overboard. |

Thanks for coming on the cruise, Ben. I enjoyed meeting you. Bobby is indeed a wonderful steel player among his many other talents. We didn't do this on the cruise due to space limitations, but we usually set Bobby's steel up alongside mine and do a twin steel portion in the 2nd part of our show. It's a ton of fun!! My favorite part of our show.
Hi Henry! We do a western swing cruise every year. Next year we leave out of Galveston 1st week of Febraury, 2015. The Contact is Bob Landreth...email me and I can give you his info.
Thanks to all the other cruise participants...it was a fun time for sure! |

What Jody said....
Every year for a number of years we have held a Super Bowl party at our house............next year it is CANCELLED!!! Why?...it conflicts with Bobby's cruise. HELLO!!! If you love fiddle, steel, shuffles, and great singing by Bobby and Harlan (harmony), we would gladly welcome you on the cruise. I am even going to try to learn to dance for next year. If Bob Landreth can do it, so can I!!!!! |
