Uncle Ronald Kanahele is the last of the Roger's family of steel guitar players. Here he is with his student of less than 2 years Timi Abrigo.

One of the most amazing things I've ever seen was handing my right handed guitar to Uncle Ronald, and seeing him play left handed with absolutely no difficulty at all. |

Uncle Ron Kanahele is a master kumu (teacher) of steel guitar in the old Rogers style. I can tell that Timi Abrigo is picking it up by just watching him and listening.!!!
Uncle Ron brought a lot of "Aloha" to our Winchester Steel Guitar Convention this past July. He was the guest artist for 2010 and his old style Rogers player hit the spot. We all soaked it up real good.
Uncle Ron needs our prayers at this time because he has been diagnosed with terminal cancer. I have talked with him several times since the diagnosis and he is in good spirits and continuing to press on.
Aloha,
Don |

I'm very sorry to hear of his illness. I enjoyed watching that video. _________________ Links to streaming music, websites, YouTube: Links |
