Advice on a Magnatone T8

I'm considering buying this guitar, and I was wondering if anyone could tell me anything about it, any reason why I might not want it. I'm a little skeptical simply because it's so cheap ($800).
Tonewise I'm seeking something a little more round and jazzy.
Thoughts?

That's a nice guitar, although it's going to be heavy to move around. Does it come with the original case?
I note a bit of wear on the covers over the pickups but it's otherwise in good condition. Assuming all the tuners and electronics work well, it should give you the sound you're seeking.

I have the double neck version of that guitar and I love it. The tone of a magnatone is sweeter in the mids that say a stringmaster. I love it....Only problem I have had is the switch is a little touchy but I just need to clean it.

Some famous Hawaiian players used those, like Jules Ah See, along with Magnatone amps.

That's a nice one. Despite a bit of cosmetic damage, if everything is in working order, the guitar will sound beautiful. Oddly enough, that is the same price I bought my T-8 Magnatone for about 9 years ago. It's the only console steel I own because it's got everything I need. Played it on a gig this evening as a matter of fact.
