Well here is my first amp completed. It sure does sound sweet. I have tried it with several different speakers and they all work fine and have a tone for each much the same as changing pickups in your guitar.
I'm currently running it with a Sica speaker the same model as Ken uses in his amps and it does save a lot of wieght and they do sound great as well. This has been a fun prodject for me and I have had a few request for them so had to come up with a name so it is CWT Amplifiers or Classic Wire & Tube. Pictures were taken in basement on work bench so will get better photo's later.

Kevin the instructions are follow the Schematic. This is a minumum of 80 watts. This amp is based on a 5F8A but with my own twist on a few things. I used Hammond transformers as they are made only an hour from me. I also have bias control for each output tube along with a couple of other modes. I tried a copper cap retifier from Weber but prefer the one I made. Just gives me more B+ and I do like to run the plate voltage higher on the 12Ax7's. So it is not a kit build and most of the parts came from several different suppliers plus what I had kicking around.

Excellent build Charlie. Does it have clear head room at loud volume?

Well I guess the term loud is kinda different to everyone but it is clean and plenty loud for me. I have a steel king as well and it will keep up with it with no problem so all the power I need for sure.
Kevin we are not that far from one another maybe we should get together some time and you could give it a try.

Thanks for all the nice comments. I love to build things that glow in the dark. I came up in the tube world so this was a walk in the park and as they say it is not rocket science but sure is fun.
Kevin I'll be waiting for your email.

The CWT tube chart sticker is really first class. A great finishing touch!
