Greetings. This is a spin off from the Dick McIntire topic where we got into some Hawaiian music discussions. Here are some scans from a book titled

"The Superior Collection of Steel Guitar Solos" Vol 2 by Keoki E. Awai

The front page and contents are found on the other thread.

Don, You picked a hard one here I think - some 'interesting' slants.

Let me know and I'll do others for you. Also there is another book cover Scan

"Allans" Hawaiian Song Folio" no 2

Hope its of use.
I'll scan more books as I get time.

Cheers
Jeff

I believe that it is a little too dark. Do it like the first page and it will be just fine.

Thanks for posting this.

Is that an arrangement for the player to add his own bass notes? (sort of back-up) The Oahu courses were like that from what I remember......

There you go Don. I will get the others done this week some time. I have a big week. BTW, do you know these tunes you picked out?
What would be great Don is for you to work one of these tunes and post a u-tube clip! Winking
I still marvel at the sharing now possible across the planet with this technology, but more so of the willing sharing of knowledge by so many.
Thanks to all of you. Surprised

Bill. Can't answer that Q, but I think all this music was intended for whole bands to play rather than players all sitting on their lonesome somewhere. Idea

Bill - Yes. The music notation indicates the same notes as the tablature, and occasionally incorporates an alternating bass figure.
