Thank you Barry, I'll even learn some new material for the show! The Chattanooga show that you put on has grown and turned into one of the greatest in the eastern half of the USA. The Dallas show is also wonderful and I have many many friends there because of working in Dallas as a learning player in my youth. I don't slight that show in any way and am sorry I had to miss it this year but I would like to extend the invitation to all the great Texas players and steel fans to join us "country players" in the heart of Dixie, Chattanooga.
Barry, we are very lucky to have had you to carry on this Tennessee tradition after Stony Stonecipher decided against continuing the Knoxville show a few years ago. You have carried the flag very well!
Now, let's all continue to love the magic that steel guitar has to offer us,along with each other, you know, it wouldn't be much fun if we didn't have one another to share it with, would it? I'd hate to be the only person in the world that played steel guitar,it's only fun if you share it with others. Hey guys and gals, attend these shows!

Just talked to Barry G., he is the Choo Choo show "producer". He says this show should be better that ever. Like all shows, they just keep getting better and better. This Chattanooga show has been doing very well over the past years, even though it's a young show, the attendance is growing with leaps and bounds every year. Most all great players, companies and suppliers will be there, many dealers, and the great players that are booked won't dissapoint.
There can be no better place for a show, great rooms, food, services, parking, etc. A truly great setting for this kind of extravaganza,The mountins around Chattanooga make this one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Bring the family too, many wonderful things to do in town and easy to get to with no parking or traffic problems.
Come to this one and you will be very happy you did. Most folks that have attended say that this is their favorite steel show anywhere. (but then, they are ALL good!)

Well I guess it's time to add my two cents worth. I have known Barry Gilreath for around 20 years or so, and I must say when he does a steel guitar show, it is strictly first class all the way. I have played at the three previous shows in Chattanooga and I am already looking forward to the next one. First, the backup band is some of the finest musicians there are which for me is one of the most important factors of any steel guitar show being successful. As I've said many times, having a great band allows the steel player to play the songs that are requested by the audience and also the tunes off of various albums, so this way the audience gets their moneys worth and the steel player actually gets to enjoy playing, so we both win. Next, The Chattanooga Choo-Choo in my opinion is one of the best hotels for this type function as The Choo-Choo is a tourist attraction and not just another hotel. Next, the lineup of steel players Barry has chosen are some of the finest there are. Next, Barry has really outdone himself this year with the addition of Buddy Emmons. I know Buddy is without a doubt my personal all time favorite steel guitar player. Buddy doesn't do many steel guitar shows, so this is one I'm sure you will want to make. I had the pleasure of hearing Buddy in Dallas a couple of weeks ago and it was a very special event I will never forget. There was standing room only and Buddy still has it. For my taste he is the master of: tone, touch, soul, fire, and taste. I have never heard him play anything that wasn't tasteful. I guess I should shut up now, but when I talk about Buddy Emmons it is hard to stop. You will just need to see and hear it for yourself.

Herby Wallace

P.S. The food is also great at the Choo-Choo.
