Is it a good idea to lube the pegs of the tuners to make them smoother to adjust or not?

I've never had to lubricate any of the tuners on any of my guitars ever. If you have good tuners, this should not be needed.

The old Kluson tuners, like the ones used on Stringmasters and Valcos, need a bit of lubrication periodically.

Thanks guys. I have a friend with several acoustic guitars who does lubricate the tuner shafts every time he changes strings. Says it works for him. I don't have a need to do it but I was curious if it was common practise or not.
