Adding my thanks for a great SWSGA show!!!!

Post by Billy Easton »

Back home now, and somewhat rested. I think our show gets better each year. What a pleasure to be associated with so many great players, technicians, supporters, and most of all FRIENDS!! The music was superb!! The players outdid themselves, if that is even possible. Our backup band was awesome!! Roy Rosetta anchored the group of great players like Chuck Back, Denny Sarver, Dan Range, Rick Schmidt, Bill Cunningham, Al Vescovo, Peter Freiberger, Ray Harrison, Doug Livingston, Vangie Fich, Stu Schulman, (hope I did not leave anyone out) and the best steel players in the country! Our audio visual guys are second to none. We have the best!! John Hensch and the Henschmen (Cameron Cave, Doug Childress, and Augie Hayes). Our stage crew, Jim Boyle, Merrill Fich, Rick Jackson and Joe Naylor were tireless. And of course all the fine vendors and fans who came to support our efforts to keep the steel guitar alive and well in the great Southwest. Congratulations to Mr. Dave Beaty who was chosen as the first ever "Member of the Year". Dave has done so much for all of us with his Telonics products and endless support for our club and show. While we have not yet tallied all the debits and credits, it looks as if we will come out alright, and this is always a big concern. Now we are looking forward to Dallas in March and our next show in January of 2012. My sincere thanks to each of you who participated in our 2011 show. May God Bless each of you!!

A special highlight of the SWSGA show was getting to be with Bud & Geri Isaacs!! Special moments of the legend; Bud brought his GFI guitar and played the lick from "Slowly" for us. And his jokes and quips had everyone rolling in the aisles! Bud & Geri together are a CLASS ACT![/img]

Billy it was a pleasure meeting you on our first trip, not the last I hope, and gabbing for just a short time. Thanks for the leadership you exhibited during the show and I'm certain many hours expended prior to showtime. It was a great show and with no "leg humping" involved I thought your set was one of the best. A superb performance from a 'good guy'.
Thanks again and we hope to see you at the Dallas get together.

Thanks for the show, Billy.

I also enjoyed hearing your set for the first time. You have a great touch and taste, and that beautiful guitar didn't hurt.

I certainly appreciate Billy and the rest of SWSGA allowing me to be a part of this great show.
The show seems to runs so smoothly during the weekend, only because of all the preparations that these folks have worked on all year.
Thank you guys and gals for all your energy and time that you devote to making this one of the best shows we can attend.
