Ladies and Gentlemen,
As in previous years I have entered a brand new steel guitar instrumental compilation, this CD entitled "Moods and Moments", for the Hawaii Music Awards this year. Hopefully this will add meaningfully to the repertoire of steel guitar recordings in the market.

There should be something for everyone: an eclectic selection of steel guitar instrumentals starting with some blues/pop numbers, then some light classical and country, some standards, and then ending with five Hawaiian tunes. The sample for the HMA competiition is Kalama'ula (track 16), a tune that I have got very fond of after listening to the very beautiful version by Hawaiian falsetto and classic jazz singer Raiatea Helm who was born on Oahu, and raised in Kalama’ula, Molokai.

Someone just told me that I have some formidable competition and I just checked it out...wow!
While most votes will go in the direction of the "masters", hope one or two of you would consider throwing a vote or two in my direction!
But, whatever the outcome, its a lot of fun throwing one's hat into the ring... |
