Here I sit, all alone on a Saturday afternoon. No place to go to except maybe an auction or the horse track/casino.
Three tv's in front of me with two seperate providers. Computer sitting just to my right. I love college basketball and vintage cars. I have the Duke/Wake Forrest game on one tv, the Kansas/Texas game on another, the Barrett/Jackson collector cars auction on another and the 'Steel Guitar Jazz' site on my computer. I've also got a big pork steak with potatoes almost ready to eat.
... Life is so boring .. Joaquin Murphey, Herby Wallace, Tom Morrel and others on the computer....Dang, they are all so good. Did Joaquin Murphey get all that stuff on a non-pedal steel guitar? What about Tom....Just about the best jazz steel guitarist I have ever heard and I've heard a bunch. His improvising actually reminds me of a Joe Pass. I wonder how they would have got along.......
Well, guess I'll just sit here and be bored. I'll have to switch one of the tv's to the Marty Stuart show on RFD later. Also Ronnie Reno's show which is always good. That show out of Minnesota with Joe Savage on steel isn't bad either.
When I was a kid, we took our weekly baths on Saturday night....milked the cow's and cleaned the trench's and then listened to the Grand Ole Opry, sometimes on a battery radio. Gee's... I sure am old and bored. Maybe I'll help the night along by playing a little on my old Fender 400 steel. Actually four in the morning and bedtime comes way too quick.
Life really get's tedious, don't it?
