Here's a free sample of an original tune, see what you think.

I wanted to run this past you guys on the forum and see if there is any interest in this format. I composed this song quickly, primarily for this purpose, it is an original or at least as original as any country song can be nowdays
It’s called “WORKIN’ ON A FREIGHT TRAIN”.
Key of G
Tempo 130
Train Style
Lots of guitar, some fiddle and room for a nice steel break a full chorus of 24 bars of steel break. Not only will it test your speed, but will give you the opportunity to test your improvisational skills.
Imagine you have been called in to do a demo session. It’s a real low budget session J
You are given the information above Key etc. and told that after the fiddle break you will take a turn for 24 bars. Since none of the studio people are players, they are depending on you to provide some really cool or hot licks that will make this a hit.
I’m posting a sample of the song for you to get an idea, of what it sounds like. If you would like to play along, let me know here or by email or both. I’ll send you the Mp3 track, and its up to you to add your steel part.
I’m sure We’d all love to hear what you come up with so if you want post it for review, or send it to me and I will post it for you. I’d like to hear what some of you would play. I know I’m not the greatest vocalist, and I couldn’t even attempt to play steel on this, but the sample will give you an idea. _________________ http://www.reverbnation.com/roberttrippmusic

I might be a beginner now, but someday I'm gonna steel the show. |
