I lost a very good c6th instruction book and I can't remeber the author. I have googled and checked links and I can't find it. If I could remember the author I think I'll be able to find a copy somewhere.

Here's what I remeber....maybe someone knows what I'm talking about. It wasn't done by any of the obvious guys. It doesn't tab out known songs, it isn't a getting started thing and it doesn't deal with tuning up or anything outside of scales. It isn't part of a larger series.

It's a paperback non glossy 60 or 70 page book with scales tabbed out over and over again in different modes. There is one picture in it of the auther playing an emmons on the stage of the opry in the 70's or 80's, he has a beard and a glossy western shirt. There are three or four pockets of scales on each page. At the end of the book he takes a song and tabbs out what the lead is and how it relates back to the scales that were already done on a per-measure basis. Kind of a show you what scale to play over what cord when we aren't talking about basic chords.

The tab is typed out and looks similar to how Herb Stiener does his. The book wasn't more than $30 and I think might have been first put out in the 80's. It's C6th only and is trying to go in the jazz direction. Again, it's basically tabs of parts of scales played in multiple positions so that you finally put them all together and see the scale everywhere on the neck.

I feel kind of silly asking for this but it was a good book and I just can't find it.

Thanks,

Ken Albert? with Jimmy Crawford, maybe?
It's mostly scales and modes.

Skip, I think you've nailed it.

Pedal Steel Guitar, C6th Scales & Modes by Ken Albert with Jimmy Crawford.

Good book. I need to go back to it.

While the course description sounds a bit like the Ken Albert book, from the cover description I think it's most likely Keith Hilton's "Rock Blues and Jazz" course for C6. A lot of good info in there.

Is the Hilton book mentioned above available anywhere? That sounds like a Hummer!

That's it! Let me know what the price is Rick and thanks for posting the picture.

Thanks everyone else for your help as well.

There is something about the way that this book is done that was very helpful to me and I would suggest it to others.

Steve

PM sent to Steve Waltz. This thing is gone.

If you are looking for it, call Bobbe Seymour? I am not sure where they can be found. Smile
