If you need lodging,I have contacted the area motels and here's what's available.

Hartland Lodge-East-1-bed $36.99,2-beds $39.99 + tax,Phone 479-524-5127

Hartland Lodge-West-1-bed $52.99,2-beds $60.99
+ tax,Phone 479-524-2025. Must be better???

Stone Inns 1-bed$36.95, 2-bed$44.90
+ tax Phone 479-524-5172

Super 8 Motel 1-bed $51.00,2-beds $54.00 +tax
There is an extra 10% off on AARP and AAA members. Phone 800-800-8000.This would probably be my choice. They keep the outside very clean.I've inspected the rooms before and they looked nice too.

Holiday Inn Express Phone 479-524-8080
They said to ask for the "great rate" that they offer on the internet and a room will cost $58.23 + tax=$64.71.Thats down from $68.50 + tax=$76.12.So you can save $11.41 just for mentioning their inter-net offer.

You'd better make your reservations for the convention "NOW" because the Dogwood Arts & Craft Festival will be going on in town the same weekend and the motels will be booked up "EARLY & QUICKLY".

There is a Super 7 Motel also, however I couldn't understand the mans english,so I gave up.Lots of luck to you.

Be sure when you call to mention the price Roger has posted. I called Hartland East and he was going to charge me $49.99. He let me have it for $39.99 when I said Roger had gotten prices for us. Donna

Thanks Donna for the info.Maybe everyone should tell them they are attending the Northeast Oklahoma Steel Guitar Show. Those prices listed are what I was quoted and they will want to go up on their prices when they realize its the Dogwood Festival Weekend.Hold them to the prices they quoted and if you get any lip, just let me know.I'm a retired wrestler.I'll go see'em.Roger

One word of caution to those of you considering Hartland east.....inspect the room!!!! I'm talking from recent personal experience and I lodged a complaint with Corporate which has gone un-noticed//un replied to. Room 19 is truly horrible.

This is the 10th annual convention for the NEOSGA and we're so proud of the growth of it down through the years and the facility in which it is held is awesome! Plenty of seating and the southern hospitality is great! In 1995 my husband (Ray Qualls) started the NEOSGA club and it took off to a great start and then in 2002 Roger Osbourn president now, took over the club and we could'nt ask for a better person to fill my husbands shoes in taking over the club. He's done a wonderful job and along with his wife Delores a (sweetheart) and along with all the others that have put their hearts into making and keeping the club going.Way to go gals & guys!!Lets all support them and mark your calendars now to attend, you won't regret it,I promise.....
Ray Qualls has moved to Baxter Springs now and started a club in 2003 and it's called the KSGA and we had our first convention last Oct. and the turn out was great and we will have another one the frst weekend in Oct. of this year and we will keep you up dated.Folks don't forget the TULSA convention in May,those guys work hard putting it together and we want to stand behind them.Well it looks like a great year for steel conventions,so come on out FOLKS.....Roger by the way, a great line-up of musicians for April!!

Hey ya all I dont think you can get any better steelin' than in the central part of the US. Keeping it alive and well! It is so funny that many people have never seen the pedal steel guitar in person. I work in a flea market and during this time of year the buisness is slow. So what should any steeler do? Take your steel to work and practice practice practice. I am so lucky to be able to do that! 90 % of the people that come into the flea market have never seen a steel guitar up close and in person. Most of them are amazed at the complexity of the instrument. I am excited to be involved in the KSGA and to be invited to the NEOSGA convention. See ya guys in Siloam next month!

I thought about bringing down my D-10 push-pull Emmons to sell at the show if anyone might be interested. It is rosewood 8 x 5 the year is a 1981 with Legrande type pedals and it plays and looks great.
