Steel Guitar and Bagpipes Duet: "Mull of Kintyre"

As far as I know, the first time steel and bagpipes play in duet. This is Sir Paul Macartney's tune released Christmas 1977; though not a Christmas tune, good for any time of year. Macca knows how to write a good tune...

West Coast Stratocaster A6 tuning and Charvel Jackson acoustic Dmaj tuning, voices and rhythm guitars by me. Effects: Johnson J-Station and Alesis Quadraverb GT.

New mixes posted 24 Dec 2010 ( old versions still available on both sites)

Thank you Kay. I appreciate the feeling you are able to inspire to the music. Since receiving two of your CD's last Fall they just stay in the changer and all the family gets to hear what it should sound like. And gives me something to aspire to. Cheers and Merry Christmas to all!

I have posted a newer mix, please re-access the url addresses up top. The new mix is a little warmer, with the bagpipes and rhythm guitar tracks made a little stronger, as also the entry of the acoustic steel guitar), which I hope you will enjoy.

Bob, Ray, those words are very gracious and make me feel humble...

Merry Christmas to all steelers and theirs...

Kay

Well done Kay, very well played and very imaginative it warmed the cockles of my heart that did. I have visited the Mull of Kintyre, Mr. Macartney has just sold the Farm there where he composed this song.
