Starting Point for tuning pegs (Carter Starter)

I'm a new member, I'll try not to be a recurring problem child. I just bought a Carter Starter. My problem, I don't have the start-up video so I don't know the starting point for the tuning nuts. When I tune the pedals-then start on the knee levers, it seems to throw something else off. Should I back off all the tuning nuts or buy a fidle? Thanks Tom H.

Back off all of the tuning nuts. Tune the strings open at the keyhead, then tune all of the levers and pedals.
Welcome! We have all been beginners at one point.

Welcome Tom!!! Don't be afraid to ask any question on here, no matter how trivial you may think it is. This forum is a great place to get some really good advice and guidance on things. Many of the members have been right where you are at some point in time, and try to help and assist as much as possible. Good luck and don't give up too soon! Pedal steel is not something you can master over night, so be patient. Good luck!!!

Tom, there are no problem children when it comes to asking questions about the steel and this is just the place to pose such questions. Here, you will find people that will be more than glad to help and as stated, we were all beginners at one time. Also, remember, you are probably not the only one to pose such questions before.
Welcome to the facinating world of the steel!

When you don't ask, the learning process is a lot longer.
