Nice.

I played with Sheriff Bobs gang when I was playing dobro and it was it was at the place the Zinc bar is in now. I knew it moved but wasn't sure where.

I enjoyed watching that - interesting and nicely done. Would have liked to hear more playing. The shots of the Village brought back many memories for me, from a period some years ago when I was living on Washington Sq. West.

Hi John,

Thanks for watching. I had no control over the finished product. It was an NYU film project.Do you have any videos posted? Billings is a long way from Greenwich Village. Happy Holiday!

Michael, I really enjoyed the documentary. I know it is tough to play with insecure and cliquish musicians coming through your gig. Must be even tougher in NYC. I couldn't help but notice the body language of the group you were playing with. It seemed as if they didn't want to acknowledge you. You have a really good attitude and talent and I salute you for staying true to your art. Best of luck to you.

To be fair to the Sheriff Bob's crew, this is THE premier bluegrass jam in the city. Personally, I wouldn't say these guys are insecure but rather hard core bluegrassers. This is the jam that Chris Thile goes to, after all. My experience with hard core BG's is that they don't like electric instruments (or drums).

Hi Joe,

Thanks for watching. I don't know about other parts of the county, but the NYC jam scene is vicious. However, any scene is better than no scene. The director captured the body language you refered to. I've been attending that jam,off and on for three years, and I still get the cold shoulder. ATTN: Steelers, don't come here. Steel is not welcome.

Hi Bill,

Sheriff Bob is okay. It's the jammers who ignore me.I understand your point about acoustic instruments. But,were are talking about a jam, not a group. I've been playing at many jams in the city for the last seven years.I'm ignored, or not welcome at most jams, electric, acoustic, jazz, blues, rock etc. Steel guitar is not welcome anywhere in NY/NJ. I say the blue grass jammers are insecure.

The Village jam has gotten better over the years. New young female musicians, and applause from the audience has forced those who ignore me to give me some play time. Thanks for watching.

Happy Holiday!
