Rod and Leg Extenders

Does anyone have any experience with the Rod and Leg Extenders to give more height to your steel? I have long legs and have to play without a shoe when using my Hilton Low Profile Pedal. I Think Bobbie Seymour sells them. I have a 1987 Emmons Push-Pull St10.

I have 1" extenders on my Carter (from Seymore). They work great. I only wish the piece of pipe that you get to put on the front legs were polished. The dull finish makes them very noticeable, and not very good looking.

Richard, the piece(s) of pipe that I put on my front two legs were made of PVC pipe so I covered them with that shiny aluminum tape and now they look good.....JH in Va.

Good idea, Jerry. Where did you find that tape? Mine are aluminum pipe, maybe conduit. My Carter doesn't have the polished package, and the pedal rods are dull aluminum (well, not dull but just not mirror finished). I have actually gotten them to a glossy (again not mirror finish) just using Mother's polish or Simichrome and some elbow grease. I may try that on the spacers. Another idea along the lines of what you did, I remember building a car for my stepson's Boy Scout racing thing they have (small wooden cars) and the hobby shop had tape that had a chrome like finish. That might work too.

Richard, I loved working on those little wood race-cars with my 5 yr. old son for the Pinewood Derby when he was in the cub scouts. It was as much fun (or more) than tearing into my steels.

Thanks Bobby for the Jerry Roller contact. I ordered a kit of 1" extenders from him and he said they were polished so they should match up with the legs.
Only 20.00 too!

You're welcome. :) Jerry is one the real unsung heroes here. He's helped so many. Myself included. With advice and parts for most any make. He's not one to bring attention to himself. So he's often over looked.

And for those looking to buy brand new. He's also a dealer for Emmons and Hilton. I'm sure I'm forgetting something. So drop him a line.

Hi, I'm totally with you. Jerry is simply a dream to deal with. I bought a Pearse bar from him and he sent it over to Germany for a fantastic price and in no time. Very nice contact as well. And despite sharing our last name it was not a case of family business:)
