I saw this on you tube and really enjoyed it so I thought Id post. This is the same guitar that I saw Kayton play at the steel show in Lexington. I talked to him after the show and he said he'd had the guitar since he was 17 yrs old. beautiful song.

Mad skillz on those harmonics. Kayton is just incredible. _________________ If Music Be the Food of Love, Play On. -Shakespeare

Hank Snow was always a favorite of mine, and the steel playing was part of it. |

Eric, I've been a big fan of Hank and band, particularly Kayton Roberts as far back as I can remember them.
It was always a treat to see Kayton on the Opry, live or on TV.
Among my Souvenirs is one of my favorite Hank songs with Kayton on steel and of course, Kayton's Bells of ST. Mary's instrumental with perfect harmonics.
Thanks for the clips. |

That's a great rendition of Tammy by Hank and his band. Those guys could think outside the box when choosing material. |

Very nice music. I think that's another hero of mine in there: Chubby Wise on fiddle. _________________ Don't go in the water after lunch. You'll get a cramp and drown. - Mother. |

Like I used.. 52 years ago

Of course, no insult intended, but the amps look like they were "on Stage studio gear" and I thought the show was Stateside ?
It can be a little confusing for us "Limeys"
Kayton ALWAYS impressed me. I was on many a tour here in the UK that he was on. Funny thing, on THOSE tours in the UK we all used Fender Twins or Vibroluxes..

Eric, thanks for that. I loved it. It reminds me of the days when bands could really play. I saw the Grammy pre-show last night and was very disappointed.
