I just got my first lap steel delivered. it is a Ouhu tonemaster. How do I decide what strings and what tuning to use to learn?

What kind of music do you like and what style(s) would you like to play?

You'll probably want to try C6 tuning because there's a lot of C6 tablature available. Good way to get started.

I am looking to play mostly blues.

Check the string chart under Lap Steel sets. You may want the E major, in that case.
