WOW !!! Our first jam is over and what a jam it was. 16 steel players and a nice size listening crowd. I can't speak for the other steelers but I had a great time. I want to thank the guys in the back up band, ladys helping with the food and Roger & Carol Hurst for hosting our jam.

Yeah Guys.... It was a great turnout for our first event. Almost overwhelming. Besides the 16 steel players we had another 5 or 6 new players that just came to listen. It was really good to see some new young people taking up steel guitar.

The huge success of our first event has to be credited to the guys in our newly formed association who are all knocking themselves out. Vice President and Database chairman, Colm Cholmicky, Secretary/Treasurer, Clint Stevenson, Web Site and Newsletter chairman, Jim Mathis, Board Adviser and Publicity chairman, Hank Ruf, our Jam Session committee, Bobby DeMoss, Clint Stevenson, and Jerry Foster.... and a whole bunch of other guys who have given valuable input at our 3 organizational meetings.

We have a lot of new ideas to come so stay updated by visiting our website at www.HeartlandSGA.org

Yeah Colm.... Those pictures Jim Mathis took are great along with the ones that the new member, Mark Murtha took. I can't wait to see what Jim Mathis puts out in our first electronic Newsletter next month.
