I also got the two CD's before that one and I consistently find myself migrating to the "That Lonesome Song" CD. They really give Eddie free reign through the entire CD. In fact the steel is the dominant instrument all the way through this CD. It almost qualifies as a steel guitar album.
If you want a sample of his picking just go to
http://www.jameyjohnson.com/videos.aspx and scroll down to Jamey Johnson performs "High Cost of Living". Eddie can really drive on a song and he also picks beautiful thought-out runs on Jamey's slow songs. |

I have both albums. I feel that Cowboy is THEE sound associated with Jamey Johnson. I recognize it in a second. I love his style. _________________ Mullen SD10 pre RP, Milkman 40w mini steel, Wet reverb mono, Profex II, Yamaha keyboard, lots of books about music theory and PSG. |

I like the "slighltly overdriven" tone he's getting. It's more palatable for that style of music without losing definition. - been looking for that sound. Great licks to boot. |
