I re-upped with TM [Titanium] tonight.
But, for some reason they said they would have to disable/dismantle MALBYTES ANTI-MALWARE. Said it was incompatable software.
Why did TM decide NOW, that Malware was incompatable??????? Was TM on the ball, before this re-up? Or what?
This makes no sense. I coughed up more dough for this Titanium version, all in good faith, and when I go to install, ---NOPE! --- bad program.
I don't get it.
It really leaves me wondering now [although TM has worked well over the past year] just why this happened. It just annoys me. Yeah, I can re-install [free] Malware. But this JUST ANNOYS me. That's it. Bingo!
Anyone else have this problem? _________________ Chip

TMIS has complained about ALL other security apps, including Spybot S&D and MBAM, for several years now. Most advanced users first try to ignore the warning. If no happy, happy, simply uninstall these apps, install TM, then reinstall the other apps. Just make sure they are used passively, if possible. Multiple security apps that check files in real time may cause conflicts.
What is the problem with reinstalling MBAM? It only takes a few minutes and all of your settings and quarantines files can be left alone during the deinstallation.
Trend isn't the only anti-virus/spyware company that does this. _________________ "Wiz" Feinberg, Moderator SGF Computers Forum

There's no problem re-installing MBAM. If that's the way it is, then that's the way it is.
When things go 'awry', my first inclination is to blame myself. ie. - "Oh, what did I do now?"
I've been running MBAM passively; I don't see it listed, now, either in Program Files or Control Panel/ Programs & Features.
Is it maybe listed under some other name/folder - like Firetrust/Mailwasher?
Should I just re-install it and not worry?
The only other "anti" program I run is Secunia.
I think it's in a passive mode.
Thanks Wiz - TM is still the best "anti" program I've ever used.

Chip;
MBAM is normally housed in Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\. If that folder and its contents are missing, assume that TMIS removed it during its own installation.
They are playing hardball with competing security programs. This has been discussed on the Malwarebytes' forums and on the Spybot forums. The solution has always been to allow the deinstallation, install TMIS, or other app, then reinstall the passive programs. You may have to then allow those programs to act in the way they are designed, via the TMIS interface, under Exceptions. _________________ "Wiz" Feinberg, Moderator SGF Computers Forum

Thanks for clearing that up, Wiz.
All in all, W7, along with TM, has been running like a top. Just want to keep it that way.
Again, thanks Wiz - you da bess. _________________ Chip
