Nice story, the Saddlecats are awesome!
I was there at that restaurant with my wife earlier this year taking in the 'cats, and blues lap steel king and long-time East Bay resident Freddie Roulette came up to say hi to Bobby. There I was, standing next to a pair of legends!

Shorty Joe Quartuccio, Johnnie Cuviello and Bobby will be honored this Sunday at the 23 Club in Brisbane, California:
Western Swing Celebration at the 23 Club
Normally I'd go, but I've got a previous engagement. I usually just act like a star-struck nut when I'm around Bobby anyway. I'm in complete awe of his playing; wish it came so naturally to me.
