OK, I know the 400 doesn't have the cut-out of a 112, but I saw where someone mentioned they wished thay had installed one on their 400...sooo....I thought a little preventative maintainence may be in order...Or do you think that it is not needed at all??

Who makes the best knob protector for NV's??

Regards

I don't think you need a protector.....I don't believe the pots on a Nashville 400 have aluminum stems like a 112....I've always thought the Nashville 400 to be built like a tank.....

Where would you put one on the Nashville 400?

The NV-400 cabinet does not have the cut out like the NV-112, so there is no need for a KnobGuard.

OK, OK I understand that there isn't a need, was just checking as I swear I saw a post by someone who said that he wished (in hindsight), that he would have done something to protect the knobs on his 400...I must have been mistaken.

Thanx for your replies

Regards

Rick

I've decided if I need more than 30watts than the stage volume is too loud.
My bands have spent the money on good boards with multiple channels and powered PA speakers like the QSC, JBL, or Mackie. We mic things for bigger venues.
I've found with a large powerful amp right behind me, my chair, and my steel, I tend to block a good deal of the sound, especially the highs anyway. Often we don't have the stage room to place amps off to the side for better room projection.
Give your ears a break. There are alot of great tube amps in the 30W range, and if they do break up they don't sound so bad anyway.

Rick,

I just posted a few days ago saying I wish I'd put a knob protector on my Peavey, but that was an N-1000.

Rick - notwithstanding the need, there's nothing to stop you from putting one on anyway. Aside from those knobs seeming to often be missile-hazard magnets, having one that's properly finished could be a real on-stage fashion statement. Picture one that's been chromed, for example....or one that has five randomly blinking lights of different colors...
