Hey PSteelers,
Back from a vacation from the steel. I've had four in the last 20 yrs, ZB Custom, two Deks and a MSA XL 4 by 5 which I currently play. Predominately a 5- string banjo guy which should make b0b happy. Anyhow, I'm hot and heavy into the PS again. There is so much value here, and online period, since I started. I do use a NV 112 and a pod XT with the steel at this time. Of course I love the American players, I'm also attracted to a couple of British players and their YouTube vids etc...I live is Kansas City and a closet player. Played professionally as a banjo dude in the past and recorded on numerous CDs etc... Nashville included.

Thanks for listening, CG |

Hey Chris,
My story is similar to yours. I bailed on steel in 1981 for banjo (had been playing Dobro since 1977). Didn't play much publicly over the years, I was just glad to progress and have fun with it while raising a family. I also love Irish music and learned some tunes from the Tom Hanway book, but haven't done so for quite a while. My arsenal includes a custom shop Mastertone, a Gold Tone dojo deluxe and a Blue Star Banjoblaster (under rated, very cool).
I'm back at the steel again trying to pick up where I left off. I'm determined not to burn out again and plan on keeping it at "fun level." I also have a NV112 and enjoy using an MXR Carbon Copy analog delay with it. So far it's been great.
My banjo playing is getting rusty though, have to fix that...
Anyway, nice to hear from you and good luck.
