Is the Lexicon recording interface pretty much the same deal as the Apple Logic Pro?

I know nothing about Apple. But I had a Lexicon MX300 that I tried out. It had a VST plug-in for 32bit versions of Windows (and a plug-in for Apple). But the only thing it did was provide a remote control for the unit and you still have to plug it into a loop somewhere that interfaces with your recording program. If this is what you are asking.

I wanted to use it with Sonar and Windows 7 64 bit but as it was only 32 bit compatible I couldn't get it fully operational and sent the unit back to Musicians Friend.

Hi Jack.I was wondering if the Lexicon is a interface that you can record through your computer. I have Windows XP. I don't know anything about Apple, or I Mac either. Windows seems to be the foremost software for computers.

The software for the 300 is the only thing I know about. It is a VST plug-in but it is ONLY a software remote control for the 300 that you can change all the programs and parameters on the 300 just as you would with the front panel controls. You still need to connect the unit externally to whatever audio interface unit you use. For example, with a multi-track recording program such as Sonar (what I use) if I wanted to use the Lexicon with a track, I would have to output that track to an external audio interface unit, through a physical connection to the Lexicon and then another physical Lexicon output to the external audio interface unit and the back to a new track in my recording program. Too much of a hassle, where regular software plug ins do not require all the routing and connections you just add whatever effect you want to the track.
