I got my good friend John Call to come to our O.S.G.A. (ohio) Steel guitar jam on the 18th of sept. And he sat beside me and he sounded so wonderful , he picked great!. And his wife (Andrea) sings beautifully!!! , you couldnt ask for a better couple. so just to update y'all , hes still touring quite alot with Pure Prairie League and sounds fine as he ever did !!!. and he's as nice a guy as you'll ever run into!.... I'm honored to call him ...Friend!!!!!

Certainly one of my influences being a child of the alt rock era in the 70's called country rock. Get pure prairie league's first record. Listen to "Country Song" or "Tears"

I paid more than a customary price to get the first PPL (includes "Bustin' Out" but who cares?) album. It sounds better than ever and remains one of my top 5, in no small part because of John Call's steel guitar wizardry.

Here's a touring link.

I think J. Call is playing a single neck Carter on some of his gigs. I have seen them in Texas on 3 occasions over the past several years and they are a treat to see live. When I saw them, Fats Kaplan was on steel.

John Call?

Yes, very nice fellow. Gets a great sound out of that S10 Carter, the steel he was playing at the Columbus Ohio Jam. It was a pleasure hearing and talking to him.
