The Duesenberg Speed Pot, but it is 250kOhm.

I seem to recall a discussion about modifying a pot's resistance with a fixed resistor. Anybody else remember that thread?????????

Thanks, Thomas. The Duesenberg Speed Pot might work but I have to look at the pedal again to see if the split and splined shaft will work in it.

For any interested parties, this is needed to repair an oddball volume pedal similar to a Boss FV50. Boss no longer carries a replacement and I don't know if it would be the same anyway.

There was a thread about modifying the taper with an external resistor.

This is not a taper issue, it is a degrees of physical rotation issue.

Lynn,
You're right. That's what it was about.

Have any of you guys ever tried one of these? How bad would it sound to use a 250k pot for volume?

John McD,
Danny Gatton used to use a 1 meg tone pot on his Tele, instead of a 250 k pot. All the action was in the first quarter turn. After that, there was no change. Would a 2 meg pot work in your situation?
