I wish you well on your adventure into the 'HOT' zone. Be careful and stay safe.
I know it won't compare with your deployment but I know a little about what it's like having spent a year in Turkey in the 1980s when the cold war made the situation with the Soviet Union a little dicey in that part of the world. I see the news reports and video of Afganistan and I can relate to the climate and geology. I can assure you, you'll never forget your tour there and we will forever be grateful for your service.

We appreciate your commitment to our country, Wayne, and pray for your safe return. We'll try to hold down the fort here at your newly founded Georgia Steel Guitar Association and make our new GSGA President proud. You certainly make US proud!

It's extremely cold here. I love it though. I'll post pics later. I wanted to bring my steel, but I wouldn't have time to play.

Yes, I also want you to know I appreciate your efforts to help those people get their country turned around, and what it means for world security in the long run.
If only there was a mini M-14 lapsteel in E-13 for you to take along. For morale purposes of course. A double duty piece.
Good luck, keep your eyes and ears open and your head down.
