I'm heading over to the NTSGA show in Nashville tomorrow, and plan on getting there in time to see Carco Clave. I like hearing him on everything, but does anyone know if he'll be playing any non pedal? I've been really hoping to get an up close look at that 10 string.
I may have to leave before the show's over on Saturday, but I will definitely be there long enough to see Billy Robinson. |

Chris Scruggs did an outstanding job playing his Walnut Fender Dual Pro D-8 on Fri.! _________________ <marquee> Go~Daddy~Go, (No), Go, It's your Break Time</marquee> L8R, jb

Yep, John,
Chris Scruggs knocked me out, and I really enjoyed getting to hear his Mama, Gail Davies, sing, too.
I heard so many great players, and everyone was so nice when you met them off stage. I sat by Paul Franklin Sr., and he was kind enough to share some building tips.
Seeing Billy Robinson was the highlight for me. I'd never met him before, and he just welcomed me over, and let me check out his Derby set up. Billy's playing is the inspiration for the 10 string console I'm building, and getting a close up look at his was extremely helpful. I picked up three Billy Robinson CDs, and listened to those slants and pulls all the way home. |
