A new composition featuring an 8 String E9th non pedal set up. The first two strings are F# and Eb (the same as on a Pedal Steel). The bottom 6 are tuned E6th. (as per Don Helms).
This set up lines up perfectly with that of the Pedal Steel and offers many nice similar sounds.

Great sound. I have used this tuning for many years. I started using it before I went to pedal steel roughly 30 years ago. It has so many possibilities. I posted it here several years ago. Since that time I have noticed that others have also used it. Once again, great job. Smile

Wow, really nice, Roy! You're getting a nice blend of the pedal steel sound and non-pedal sound. I also like the tone of your guitar, bright and very clear. Beautiful!

Hi Doug! Thanks for the inspirational words.Smile
I have a student and a Forum member in the process of getting started on this set up.
It has certainly caught on with me and I hope it will with others. Eventually I will have this
tuning on my top neck and the C6th on the bottom....as per Pedal Steel.
Right now it is just the reverse and "feels" a little awkward.Smile
Thanks again for chiming in.

Roy
