Well its 10 20 pm on Sunday here in Aus...so it must be about 12.20 pm Sun lunch in Ireland..I have just got a message that Sarah Jory is in full flight there at the show..I suppose she is playing her new guitar........I do believe that a well known Nashville personality is there also and should be playing his guitar..and hopefully backing one of the Irish Leading singers for a couple of tunes.
I will post as I hear more Tony Image Image Image

Hi Tony,
Sarah did not play her new guitar as it arrived with the wrong pickups installed. She played the hell out of her EMCI. What a performance. There was a well known Nashville player backing an Irish lady singer, and they never argued once!!!!!!!

Hi Tony,
What a Convention!!!.
Sarah was superb, so was that Irish bird who sang with that Nashville player.
Joking aside though I can't wait for the next one.

It's good to see you made it home in one piece Allan. It was great meeting you and the rest of the Scottish contingent, especially Ron Wood and his mate Ian.It was also a pleasure to meet Ole all the way from Denmark. You know Allan I dont know what you
mean by saying that an Irish lady singer and a Nashville player didn't argue.......why on earth would they want to do such a thing????? Image

I know I speak for just about everyone who attended and performed when I say that it was a hugely successful show. The atmosphere was friendly and everyone had a great time, hearing the extremely talented Bobbe Seymour who as well as playing beautifully has a wonderful sense of humour not to mention his talent at embarrassing some of us!!!!!!!
Sarah was as usual absolutely wonderful, what can I say that hasn't been said already about this lady. Our own steel players didn't let us down either, they all played wonderfully well. Allan Thompson's set was excellent except he tried to upstage me playing one of my songs! Image
Gerry Hogan and his Heroes wound up the show in great style. It's hard to talk about the highlights of the show because for me every minute was perfect.
Well I guess that's not quite right. The real highlight for me was when Bobbe invited me to join him onstage to sing, but of course that was after he told everyone how we had first made contact which had me hiding under my coat and shrinking low in my seat while he talked!!!!! Image Really Bobbe it was a pleasure NOT a pressure to get the opportunity to share the stage with you. Thank you.
[This message was edited by Anne Marie O Keeffe on 20 October 2003 at 10:19 AM.]

I would like to thank everyone who attended the Irish Steel Guitar Festival 2003. It was a wonderful week-end of music, and everyone on stage played their hearts out. And the band was world-class,"these guys are just incredible" (quotes from Bobbe Seymour and Sarah Jory) We also had a surprise guest artist, Mr Mick Flavin,(one of Irelands Top Country singers)who done a 20 minute set, with Richard Nelson on steel. Richard is the steel player in Micks band,so he was very relaxed and played superbly. I hear that Mick Flavin has approched Anne-Marie O Keefe to join the band, and they plan to do a take off of George and Tammy.....
My sincere thanks to all the players, and to The Travelling Newburys from England who do a great job every year, thanks guys, and to everyone who helps Richard Nelson, Maurice Wilson and myself put this thing to-gether.We hope to continue this great event for many more years to come, but we need the support from as many people as possible.
THANKS EVERYBODY FOR MAKING IT A WONDERFUL STEEL GUITAR FESTIVAL
