Rickenbacker Console questions

Does anyone have or know how I can get either a schematic or the owners manual of the Rickenbacker Triple Console from the 50's? Also, I plan to reattach two of the metal terminal boards which have fallen off.
They have been glued several times in the past, it appears, and I was going to use double sided tape to reattach them, but I was hoping to remove the glue residue. Any suggestions on how I should do this? I was thinking of using a flat exacto to scrape. Was not inclined to use sand paper; just want to make the surface flat for the tape. And finally, are there string gauge suggestions for the various 8 string tunings?
