Why does my desktop icons keep rearranging?? Is it something that I do that causes it, or is it Vista? For whatever reason everything moves around, and I have to hunt them and put them back where I had them. Is there a way I can make them go back to where I had them?..Vista home premium.
Thanks...Bill _________________ Bill Ford S12 CLR, S12 Lamar keyless, Misc amps&toys Sharp Covers

Bill
Right Click Your Mouse on Your Desktop, Select "View" and See if "Auto Arrange" has been Selected. It is an option in Windows 7 and Vista is Probably the same |

Align to grid just means that things have to line up when checked. It doesn't control ordering or (re)-arrangement.
Auto Arrange is what you are looking for..
The only other time where your icons will automatically rearrange is when your user profile gets re-made. In the system log of the event viewer, do you see any errors regarding your profile?
Always something to consider.. |
