Winnie Winston book record...

Post by Brian Heller »

Hi,
I checked this out from the library and have it for a couple more weeks. The flexi-disc (record) in the back cover is in pretty good shape. Would be useful for anyone to have a digital copy (CD or files)? For example, if yours is damaged, you can't play records, or you buy a used copy without one? It's not very clear on Amazon whether all these copies actually have the record or not. If there's some amount of demand in the next week, I can do a pretty good quality transfer.

Best,
brian

Brian, I'd love a digital copy! I'm getting back into steel again after a long break. I put my original on tape but it sounds pretty bad, and it's a hassle getting up from the steel, rewinding, etc. If you decide to do it, count me in!
Thanks,
Allan

The Winnie Winston book is listed on ebay - the new edition comes with a CD
LDG and a Twin Reverb - what more does a guy need?

You can buy the book with the CD from the forum online catalog. Click "instruction" at the top of the page. :)

Check. FYI, it was brought to my attention (and I was aware) there are some intellectual property issues here. The spirit of the offer was more along the lines of making a 'backup copy' of a pretty fragile piece of media for an existing owner who might not be able to. While this is legal (it can get a little complicated, but it does fall under the Fair Use law), me doing it for someone else puts it the line. So I'll have to come up with some other way to give-back to the Forum. :)

I've emailed MP3 attachments of the CD tracks to several people over the last few years.

There's an old posting on the forum from Winnie Winston himself. He had no objections to mailing mp3's to those who have the book and lost the record. If any need the files, give me a pm.

If I needed a copy of this book or CD, I'd buy it from b0b to help the Forum. I enjoy this site a lot; all the info and friendships etc.
