Chuck: I think your post and the latest Clip Of The Week by Walter Stettner show the actual tonal and tuning developement of the steel guitar. You can hear the styling changes brought about by improved amplifiers as well as the introduction of the 6th tuning by Jerry Byrd. Which is another reason I think the COTW is Kayton because he has always paid his dues to Jerry's influence on all of us.
