I've gotta play outside with no juice. I need to amplify an electric bass and the singer with decent power. does anybody know and recommend an amp that has 2 inputs that can handle both of these pitch ranges simultaneously, reliable, etc.?

Ouch, that is a tough one specially if you need decent volume. Roland has a Bass Cube that sounds decent at low volume but it has no low Z input for a mic. Their Cube Street is a guitar amp with a mic channel. The mic channel is disapointing (I own one).

I'd rent or borrow a Honda EU2000 generator and run small amps/PA off of it. Amazingly quiet unit. From 25ft away you will not hear it run while playing. If you are using real small gear an EU1000 will do the trick and is just as quite. Generator, 12 ga extention cord and a power strip.

In the past I've done some outside work in parades on a float with a Hawaiian group and they used to rent a small generator for the P.A. , bass amp and steel amp and it worked out fine !! Wouldn't be too expensive and much better than a batt. powered amp !! Eddie "C"
