Jamie,
Who is doing the video on Paul?? The lighting is terrible!
Somebody needs to put an over-head light; maybe you can find that out.
We like to hear what Paul is doing; it would be nice to see him. That also means the rest of the band.

I complained about this a while ago but was chastised for it.
I agree Tommy, there is really no excuse for poor lighting with todays technology. I have seen other vids from the same location with lots better lighting.

This looks like a home-made video from a Monday night gig at the Station Inn in Nashville. I don't think anybody would appreciate a videographer putting floodlights on the band during a gig so you could have a better youtube vid. If you catch this show live, you'll see that the stage lighting is just fine, but perhaps not the greatest for making videos. Still - this is arguably the hippest show in the United States right at the moment, IMHO. Check it out when you're in Nashville.

My opinions, naturally.

Dave, you are probably right, but most likely the video is being made by a digial camera or cell phone with no lighting.
If I had to guess who is shooting that video, I'd almost bet that it is that burr-headed steel player from the UK. Just kidding with you JL.......

yeah it was me shooting the video on a digital cam, the lighting not the best there to be honest !

But it is one of the best shows in Nashville !!

Jamie, Thanks for posting these on youtube and here.. It looks like Andy has the best seat in the house to watch Paul play.

I notice Paul is playing the old 2-tone Red/Yellow.. I wonder if it's just to alternate usage of his others or if he just likes this one more.

Jamie,

I certainly agree that Paul is tops.

I also want to say that I finally got my copy of "Slightly Used Woman" this week. I've nearly worn it out! Awesome album, Awesome singing, and most surely Awesome steel playing.

Country music is alive and well :D

Thanks,
David

Bo Borland:

Bo, Paul has been using the Red & Yellow since he played with Dire Staits. I am not sure how many guitars that paul has, but I know of five.
This year in dallas, I asked Paul the same question about the red and yellow and he said that he liked to change every now and then and also the guitar has a little different tone and I think that he changed up some pulls, (Paul, might could answer that)
If you listen to the cd with Martina, you will notice a big difference in the tone, most likely the sound was either the engineer or Paul may have used the all wood guitar. Back in March at the Dallas show, Paul played "Blue Jade"; and I was up front and the tone was unbelieveable. He was using a box full of toys, but Paul himself is unbelivable.
I have known him for 30 years and everytime I think he is at his best, then he does something spectacular and he out does himself.
Let's just hope that he continues to do the things he is doing and gets better..........
